Catholic Online Dating
2014 – 2016
This was a small dating site for Catholics in the United Kingdom. Over two years it grew to around 1,200 members. It closed in 2016, and there is no longer any way to join or sign in.
People still find their way to this address looking for somewhere to meet other Catholics, so rather than leave an empty page, here are the places we would point a friend. We are not paid for listing them.
Catholic dating sites and apps
All are international, with UK members. Numbers here are smaller than on the mainstream apps, so it is worth widening your search radius.
- CatholicMatchcatholicmatch.com The largest Catholic dating site. US-founded, but with a long-standing UK and Ireland membership.
- Catholic Singlescatholicsingles.com One of the oldest Catholic dating sites, running in some form since the 1990s.
- Ave Maria Singlesavemariasingles.com Aimed squarely at practising Catholics who are looking for marriage rather than casual dating.
- Catholic Chemistrycatholicchemistry.com A newer app-first option, built around shared practice of the faith.
Wider Christian dating in the UK
If the Catholic-only pools feel thin where you live, these have far more UK members and let you filter by denomination.
- Christian Connectionchristianconnection.com UK-based and running since 2000. Probably the largest Christian dating site in Britain, with a Catholic filter and regular members’ events.
- Friends1stfriends1st.co.uk A UK Christian introductions agency that works offline, with matches made by a person rather than an algorithm. Paid, and deliberately slower.
- ChristianCafechristiancafe.com A long-established general Christian dating site with a free trial period.
Meeting people away from a screen
A site can only ever be an introduction. If you are near any of these, they tend to do more good than another profile.
- Youth 2000youth2000.org Retreats and prayer groups for young adults across England, Wales and Scotland. Well known as a place where Catholics in their twenties and thirties actually meet each other.
- Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England and Walescbcew.org.uk Find your diocese, and from there its young adult, chaplaincy and events listings.
- Bishops’ Conference of Scotlandbcos.org.uk The same, for the eight Scottish dioceses.
- Catholic Directorycatholicdirectory.org Parish and Mass time finder. Useful if you have moved and are looking for a parish with a community your own age.
